Karlstad Family Members held a reunion at the Mayville Island Park on Saturday, July 23, 2022 with 127 descendants attending. For the past several reunions, the family has done a "Bucket Raffle" as a fundraiser to give to various organizations in the Mayville/PortIand/Hatton area In memory of Martin & Marit and Lars & Clara Karlstad. This year the family will be 
giving $690 to Carl Ben Eileson Elementary School (Hatton) for their "Angel Funds".
Martin Karlstad came to America (Ellis Island) on the ship SS Oceanic on March 16, 1910 from Hof, Solor, Norway and 
married Marit Rotvold (Mary Erickson) December 3, 1914. Marit was from Tysdalen, Norway. They had 10 children - Pearl Swenson (Delmer), Edgar (Agnes), Margaret Fauglid Aasland (Archie, Arne), Hjalmer (Doris), Lief (Mae), Marvin (Alene, Alice), Edith Strand (Maynard), Paul (June), Ellen Bolstad (Ken), Marion Fillbrandt (Aubrey).
Lars Karlstad came to America (Ellis Island) on the ship Adriatic on July 11, 1913 from Hof, Solor, Norway and married Clara
Johnson on June 2, 1917 in Hatton. They had 5 children-Palmer (Avis), Adeline Neyssen/Erickson (Gus/Bob), Carsten (Shirley/Guida), Mardell Ostenson (Art), DeLores Hanson (Martin).
