
Hatton-Northwood is looking for an assistant drama director to assist with our one-act play. Rehearsals begin soon! If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Burger at the Northwood School.

One-Act Play auditions will be held in the Northwood Performing Arts Center on Monday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 27 at 7:00p.m. Students should attend both sessions if possible. If you have questions about the auditions, please contact Mrs. Gylten.

*****Due to the decrease in cases of Covid-19 in our county, students will not be required to wear masks, but all students and staff will be required to have masks in case we need to restart mitigation strategies. Mitigation strategies in the school building will be directed to staff, students and the community by the Superintendent. We will keep the same cleaning and self-care procedures as they proved to be beneficial for our students and staff as well as staying physically distant when possible.


Free Swimming at Hatton Pool
The St. John Membership Committee is hosting 2 free swimming events in July at the Hatton Swimming Pool. These events are open to anyone in the age group listed.
On Thursday, July 15 there will be free swimming for grades K – 6 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Parents are asked to accompany their young children. Refreshments will be provided.
On Saturday, July 17 there will be free swimming for grades 7 – 12 from 9:00 pm to midnight. Free swim with water games from 9:00 to 10:00. Then, at 10:00 we will be showing a movie to watch while in the pool. Food and refreshments will be provided.
Come join the fun!

The Thunder track and field team and the Thunder cross country team will be having a 5k race and kids 1/2 mile race on Wednesday July 21st at the Northwood park. Registration starts at 6pm with the kids race starting at 7pm. Cost is $10 for the kids race and $20 for the 5k.

The Hatton School will be removing the old lockers from the locker rooms today. If anyone is interested, they will be located in the east parking lot of the school. If you want some, please pick them up by Friday at 12:00 pm. If anyone is available today and would like to help maintenance staff remove them any help would be appreciated.

A big thanks to the St John’s MAD Men and the school maintenance for installing the additional basketball hoops in the new gym.




Unofficial results from yesterday's school board election are as follows: Kallie Naastad, 52 votes; Sigrid Letcher, 89 votes; Fred P. Strand, 91 votes. With Sigrid and Fred receiving the highest number of votes they are elected to serve a 3-year team on the board. Publishing of the minutes in the newspaper will continue.

Remember to vote in-person at the Hatton Eielson School Board election on Tuesday, June 8th. Polls are open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please enter the school at the main entrance, under the Hatton Eielson sign in the parking lot.


Congratulations to Kelby Azure for placing 43rd of 127 golfers at the ND State Class B Golf Tournament at Carrington, June 1-2!

The public library will be open starting Thursday June 3rd. The hours will be Thursday 7-9pm and Saturday 2-4pm. Please use door 9.

Our softball team is going to state! Hatton-Northwood co-ops with MPCG in girls fast pitch, and they just won in extra innings to qualify for the State tournament. Way to go team!

Congratulations to the following students who will be attending the state track meet! 1st place Regional Champions Mitchell Coleman in 110M Hurdles; Kaleb Braun in the Triple Jump and Long Jump. 2nd place finishers include Camryn Adams in the 100M, Jenna Soine in the 800M, and Mitchell Coleman in the 300M Hurdles. 3rd place went to the 4x200 Relay of Ella Holkesvig, Brynley Coleman, Paris Hoverson, and Camryn Adams and Shot Put Kelby Azure. Before Regional Qualifiers included Jenna Soine (3200 and 1600), Mitchell Coleman (110M Hurdles and Pole Vault), Brynley Coleman (Pole Vault), Kaleb Braun (Triple Jump and Long Jump), Ella Holkesvig (Triple Jump), and Camryn Adams in the 100M. What a fantastic season, Thunder Track! Congrats to the team and to coaches Sherva, Soine, Griep, and Quinn!


School office hours for the summer are M-F 9am-12pm and 1-4pm.


Congratulations to Kelby Azure for qualifying for the State Golf Tournament in Carrington on June 1-2. He shot an 83 at the regional meet yesterday at King’s Walk, earning him 6th place.
