"Back to School Night" is tonight starting at 5:30pm. A meal will be served by the Goose River Bank from 5:30-6pm with a program to immediately follow in the gym. This is a great opportunity to bring supplies to the classroom, meet teachers and pay for any fees. Please make sure to grab your "Back to School" bag by the main office. See you tonight!!
Update to previous post: JH volleyball practice has been moved to Northwood Monday August 16th. Players will be riding the bus over with the football players and leaving at 6:30am from Hatton.
There has been a change for cross country practice due to the heat this upcoming week. Practice will be at 6am Monday-Wednesday. Hatton/Northwood athletes will practice in Northwood and will leave Hatton at 5:45am
The Thunder Football team is selling t-shirts in honor of Andrew Huus. All proceeds will go to the Huus family. The shirts will be $15 each. We are hoping to have them by our first home football game on August 27th. Please sign up for ordering, and then you will pay when the shirts are delivered. Order closes Monday, August 16 at noon. As a reminder, today is the day to stop by the school to visit with Mr. Soine and finalize schedules and get locker assignments for students grades 7-12. If you are unable to come in at the designated times, please call the school to work out a time.

A “Back-to-School Night” is scheduled for Monday, August 16th from 5:30 – 7:00PM. The idea of the night is to allow parents and students to meet the teachers and to answer any questions they may have. The Goose River Bank will be serving a light supper from 5:30 – 6:00PM with a program to follow immediately in the gym. The first day of school will be Wednesday August 18th.

Meals are free again this year.
Cross Country practice for grades 7-12 will start on Monday, August 9th at 4pm in Larimore. The bus will leave Hatton at 3:30pm and Northwood at 3:45pm. Physicals must be turned into Coach Soine before athletes can practice.

Hatton-Northwood is looking for an assistant drama director to assist with our one-act play. Rehearsals begin soon! If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Burger at the Northwood School.
One-Act Play auditions will be held in the Northwood Performing Arts Center on Monday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 27 at 7:00p.m. Students should attend both sessions if possible. If you have questions about the auditions, please contact Mrs. Gylten.

*****Due to the decrease in cases of Covid-19 in our county, students will not be required to wear masks, but all students and staff will be required to have masks in case we need to restart mitigation strategies. Mitigation strategies in the school building will be directed to staff, students and the community by the Superintendent. We will keep the same cleaning and self-care procedures as they proved to be beneficial for our students and staff as well as staying physically distant when possible.
Free Swimming at Hatton Pool
The St. John Membership Committee is hosting 2 free swimming events in July at the Hatton Swimming Pool. These events are open to anyone in the age group listed.
On Thursday, July 15 there will be free swimming for grades K – 6 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Parents are asked to accompany their young children. Refreshments will be provided.
On Saturday, July 17 there will be free swimming for grades 7 – 12 from 9:00 pm to midnight. Free swim with water games from 9:00 to 10:00. Then, at 10:00 we will be showing a movie to watch while in the pool. Food and refreshments will be provided.

The Thunder track and field team and the Thunder cross country team will be having a 5k race and kids 1/2 mile race on Wednesday July 21st at the Northwood park. Registration starts at 6pm with the kids race starting at 7pm. Cost is $10 for the kids race and $20 for the 5k.
The Hatton School will be removing the old lockers from the locker rooms today. If anyone is interested, they will be located in the east parking lot of the school. If you want some, please pick them up by Friday at 12:00 pm. If anyone is available today and would like to help maintenance staff remove them any help would be appreciated.
