March 10th-14th is Hatton Eielson SOS week. Sources of Strength is a Youth mental health organization that uses peer leadership to help create healthier and happier schools and communities. This week we celebrate positive friends and how they are there for us when we need them to lift us up, are honest with us, and are there for us when we need them. As peer leaders and adult mentors we hope this week of activities will bring us all closer as a school, strengthen our friendships and possibly create new ones.

Monday March 3rd Announcements:
1. Good luck to the BBB team as they play Larimore in the District Tournament in New Rockford today with the game starting at 3pm. Players can be dismissed at 11:40 to eat lunch and will be leaving at 12pm.
2. Congratulations to the Thunder Robotics team for their great performance at Duluth over the weekend. Team 876 achieved the #1 ranking after the qualifying rounds and ended up placing 4th out of 54 teams. They also won the Innovation in Control Award.
2. Congratulations to the students that completed the February Reading Challenge! The pie and the movie with popcorn will both be on Friday, March 14! Congratulations to Lilly Boe for winning the Ampride gift card, Rayne Piatt for winning the treasure chest prize and Rafe Gibson for winning the sports ball! Please stop by the library to get your prize. For the March Reading challenge, high school students can read 300 minutes for Mr. B to buy you a 6 pack of pop or Bubbl'r.

Attention Hatton Alumni!
The Hatton Area Dollars for Scholars chapter has a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a returning college student. April 1, 2025 is the deadline. Go to hatton.dollarsforscholars.org and update your profile right away to be considered! Students must be a former Hatton grad who is still pursuing higher education.


Friday February 28th Announcements:
1. Congratulations to our GBB team as they finished 3rd in the regional tournament. They will now play in a state qualifying game on Saturday at 5pm at Mayville State. Practice will be in Northwood after school today.
2. Good luck to the BBB team as they play in the first round of districts today in New Rockford with the game starting at 3pm. Players can be dismissed at 11:40 to eat lunch and will be leaving at 12:10.
3. Good luck to the Robotics team at their competition in Duluth.
4. Participation for Thunder wear Friday is at 58%.

1. Good luck to the GBB team as they play in the 3rd place game in regionals today in Devils Lake with the game starting at 5:30. Players will be dismissed at 2:20 and leave at 2:30.
2. Congratulations to the Varsity Academic Challenge team for placing 1st yesterday at Northern Cass.
3. The Prom and Banquet sign up sheets are due this Friday. The Prom t-shirt sign up sheet needs to be paid and signed up by March 6th.
4. Miller's Fresh Foods is hiring night and weekend cashiers. Pick up an application at the store.

The varsity and junior varsity Academic Challenge teams competed in a competition at Northern Cass today.
The varsity team, consisting of seniors Brody Johnson, Taryn Munkeby, Hannah Scholand, Alicia Foss, and Brooklyn Galde, and junior Cooper Handly took 1st place overall, edging out Carrington, Central Valley, and Northern Cass in the finals.
The junior varsity team of juniors Lizzie Ness, Rylan Wamstad, Chance Jacobson, and Alex Cole, and sophomores Drew Iverson and Aiden Johnson made the final round and finished in 4th place.
Also competing was a junior varsity team consisting of Brennon Nelson, Ryder Ness, Bryce and Noah Scholand, and Abby and Izzy Padilla.
The championship team is also pictured with today's emcee and noted author, Shawn Krinke!





Wednesday February 26th Announcements:
