5. Congratulations to Olivia Beaudoin for winning the Ampride Gift Card for the January Reading Challenge! The pieing of the teachers and administrators will be Wednesday, February 12th at 3pm. For February's Reading Challenge, read 300 minutes to eat pie on PI Day March 14th during lunch!

Congratulations to the Elementary Students of the Month for January: 6th Grade: Rayne Piatt; 5th Grade - Eva Strand ; 4th Grade -Blakely Hanson ; 3rd Grade - Milo Askim; 2nd Grade -Lorelai Blaufuss; 1st Grade -Ariella Axt ; K - Cora Kempel. The class of the month for January is 5th Grade.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place Thursday February 20th from 3:45-8pm. Students 7-12 will have student lead conferences and schedules have been mailed out for all students grades K-12. Look for an additional letter in that mailing with regards to e-funds!!
Friday January 31st Announcements:
1. Good luck to the HS GBB/BBB teams as they host Larimore tonight in Northwood. The JV games will start at 4:30 with the V girls game then the V boys. Players will be leaving at 3:10.
2. JH BBB practice will be in Hatton after school.
3. Monday is the start of FBLA Week so please wear your FBLA shirts or Blue in support of FBLA. There will be FBLA crests hidden around the commons areas for grades 7-12. When you find one bring it to Mrs. Lorenz and get your name in a daily drawing. BAAs are due today as well as project rough drafts.

FBLA Week February 2-8
We will be hosting breakfast again this spring. Donuts for Dads will be Tuesday February 11th, Goodies for Grandparents Tuesday March 11th and Muffins for Moms Tuesday April 29th. We encourage parents/guardians/grandparents to come in and share a breakfast with students free of charge.

1. Good luck to the GBB teams as they host Griggs-Midkota tonight in Hatton with the 7th grade game starting at 4pm in the new gym and the JV at 5:30 in the main gym.
2. Good luck to they JH BBB teams as they travel to Grafton today. Players will be dismissed at 1:45 and leave at 1:55.
3. HS BBB practice will be in Northwood after school. Please make sure to have the boys locker room cleared out by 7th hour.
4. Good luck to the Hockey team as the play Grand Forks Central tonight at 6pm.
5. FBLA members in grades 9-12 must be at the school no later than 6:50 am tomorrow for Emerging Leaders. The bus will be leaving at 7am.
6. Congratulations to our 2025 School Spelling Bee Champ; Tessa Askim! She will be moving onto the Regional Spelling Bee along with Harper Huus, Archer Johnson, Rayne Piatt, Jacqui Ellard, Ben Askim, Lilly Boe and Aksel Johnson. The Regional Spelling Bee will take place on February 19th.

Last week, 7-12 math students competed at the annual University of North Dakota Math Track Meet. Class A and B students from across the area competed on individual and team tests throughout the day!
Individual "Honorable Mention" award winners include Benjamin Askim, Lillian Boe, Zane Jacobson, Brennon Nelson, and Brody Johnson. Cooper Handly finished in 3rd place among all 11th graders in the competition!
The junior/senior team consisting of Hannah Scholand, Brody Johnson, Cooper Handly, and Rylan Wamstad finished in 3rd place of the 22 teams competing in their division. They finished behind only teams from Grand Forks Red River and Grand Forks Central and ahead of multiple other Class A teams.
Congratulations to everyone who competed, you continue to impress us and carry on a strong tradition of math success!

Hatton Eielson has sent ESP director Rachel Strand, Superintendent Kevin Beaudoin, and a delegation of young leaders out to Bismarck to spend the day meeting with lawmakers. Good luck at the Capitol to Aurora Maruska, Tessa Askim, Eva Strand, and Adalyn Iverson as they share with the congressmen the many benefits of our Extended School Project.
Among those the girls have been able to present their work to are 2012 Hatton graduate and District 44 Representative Austin Foss, North Dakota State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler, North Dakota CTE Assistant Director Mark Wagner, and District 20 Representatives Jared Hagert and Mike Beltz, and Senator Randy Lemm. They were even able to sit in on a session with Senator Lemm and Representative Foss! We are proud to have you representing us in Bismarck!
